Recently, I went on a couple of dates with a girl and we were texting on and off, and I was pretty interested in getting to know her further. After our 2nd “date” (just a couple drinks), I texted her and didn’t hear back. Feeling a little discouraged as I thought the date went well, I waited a day and texted her again. Nothing.
At this point I was deep into my brain thinking about all of the things that I possibly did wrong on the date and searching for a reason as to why she could be ghosting me. All fingers were pointing at me, it must’ve been something I did wrong, maybe I wasn’t attractive or good enough? It started to effect my self confidence and self image a little bit and I was really letting it get to me. Then I saw something that really helped me, it’s like it popped up out of thin air right when I needed it most, it was a quote. The quote read “You can be a juicy ripe peach and there will still be someone who doesn’t like peaches.” (Mic drop)
How great is that quote? It immediately made me feel better, as my thoughts shifted from “What’s wrong with me?” to “Well maybe she just doesn’t like peaches” and it injected hope into me because I know there are plenty of people out there who will love me for the juicy and ripe peach I am. I can’t help to laugh as I compare myself to a peach, but I wanted to share this because I think it such a great quote about beauty and how it is all relative to someones individual “taste”.
The next time that you are questioning yourself or letting someone else’s negative opinion of you bring you down, I hope you will say to yourself “Maybe they don’t like peaches”
Boom. We’re done here.
